Carrie Torn, MSW, LCSW helps people break the cycle of depression, anxiety and burnout. She specializes in helping people who have experienced trauma focus on the present instead of the past. Carrie uses a holistic approach that integrates the connection of mind, body and emotions.
Carrie incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing), mindful-self compassion, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and somatic based therapy. Carrie enjoys working with people experiencing a range of challenges including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, mood disorders, and those navigating difficult life transitions. People find Carrie to be compassionate, intuitive and engaging. Carrie works to create a safe and comfortable for personal exploration and growth.
Carrie received her Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a North Carolinian native, Carrie is happy to be back in her home state.
Carrie is bilingual in Spanish with international work experience in Latin America and has also extensively traveled abroad. Carrie enjoys practicing yoga, being outdoors and experiencing new foods and cultures.
