Terrence L. Lassiter, LPC, LCAS-A, helps children and teens manage their anger and emotions by utilizing appropriate coping skills and developing healthy outlets. Terrence has worked with children and teens as a school counselor for over 10 years in the Charlotte, NC area. In his years as a school counselor, Terrence has helped children and teens with issues related to bullying, suicidal thoughts, academic challenges and behavior issues in school. Terrence helps children and teens manage their anger and emotions by utilizing appropriate coping skills and developing healthy outlets.
In addition to his experience as a school counselor, Terrence has experience with counseling both adults and children in an outpatient setting. Terrence is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP) with specialization to help both victims and perpetrators of sexual abuse or violence. Terrence has certification to treat eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. In addition to his specialties, Terrence helps people with anxiety, depression, and grief related issues.
In his approach to counseling, Terrence uses movies, television, and humor to help people gain insight. A multilayered approach is used to help by connecting people how their thoughts impact their behaviors. Evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing are used to help people garner the best results from their counseling experience.
Terrence Lassiter attended Cambridge College in Massachusetts where he received his Masters of Education degree in 2007. Terrence is a licensed counselor (LPC) in North Carolina and licensed clinical addiction specialist associate (LCAS-A). Terrence is a husband and father who enjoys coaching and mentoring Charlotte, NC area middle school boys.
