Janelle Fleck, MFT, LPC has 11 years of counseling experience passionately serving children, teens, families, and couples. Janelle graduated with her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron in Ohio in 2005. She has been fully licensed in North Carolina since June of 2015. Her career’s work has ranged from providing Outpatient Counseling services to children and families in community mental health settings, providing individual and couples counseling in private practice settings, and providing intensive home-based services to at-risk youth and families. She has also provided clinical supervision to newly licensed counselors for the last 5 years. Her greatest passion is for helping families heal and relationships recover from traumatic experiences as well as assisting at-risk youth through building resiliency.
Janelle’s approach to counseling draws from a combination of treatment modalities, including solution-focused, eco-structural, and emotionally-focused therapies. She views people always as “in relation” to one another, and this relational system as delicate and complex. She believes in focusing on strengths and resiliency factors, and helping individuals and families see those strengths and expand upon them. Janelle’s approach is individualized to meet the unique needs of each person, couple, or family and she takes the role of a collaborative partner in therapeutic process.
When not working, Janelle enjoys traveling to visit friends and family as well as exploring what the Charlotte area has to offer. Janelle also enjoys trying new restaurants, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with her close friends and her two cats.
